Content

This course combines two key funding priorities: Artificial intelligence and data innovation and ecological sustainability through resource-efficient AI development. Participants learn advanced techniques to optimise the performance of their AI models while minimising resource consumption — whether that's computing power, memory or energy.

By the end of the course participants will be able to develop AI systems that are not only technically powerful but also resource-efficient, energy-conscious and socially responsible.

Course structure

The course comprises 48 teaching units (60 minutes each) across six progressive modules plus 2 hours of Q&A per person.

  • Module 1 – Fundamentals of sustainable AI development & AI architectures
  • Module 2 – Optimising AI models (computing power, memory, energy)
  • Module 3 – AI applications: automation & decision support
  • Module 4 – Reviews & analysis of models and training processes
  • Module 5 – Ethics, data protection & responsible AI use
  • Module 6 – Practical project: developing a resource-efficient AI application

Small groups (max. 5 people), twice weekly, 2.5 hours per session, exclusively online.

Target audience & prerequisites

The course is aimed at developers, data scientists and technical professionals who want to expand their knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence. Basic knowledge of Python is required; experience with machine learning or data analysis is an advantage.

Meets the requirements for the FFG Skills Voucher 2026 (subsidy of up to 50%, max. € 5,000 per person). The Coding School is Ö-Cert certified.

Praxisprojekt + Vertiefung & individuelle Begleitung). Versäumte Module können im nächsten Kursdurchlauf nachgeholt werden.
